We are a Layer 1 blockchain application platform, providing the tools for digital ownership to allow the new generation to build better solutions. In today’s internet, centralized control often leads to unfair practices such as data monopolization, unequal access, and lack of transparency. Here at Klayr Labs, we believe that applying blockchain in the right places can make apps more user-centric.

The new generation isn’t constrained by the disparity between web2 and web3 as we are, but grows up with the awareness of web3’s presence. We aim to aid them in integrating web3 into technology, thereby advancing towards a more transparent and equitable digital environment for all, with the user placed at the forefront.

Our founders

Lukas Bronsvoort

CEO

Lukas is the CEO of Klayr Labs, a Layer 1 web3 startup with a mission to bring digital ownership to more people. He leads the Dutch company that oversees and maintains the layer-one blockchain formerly known as Lisk.

Lukas hails from the blockchain ecosystem and has previously co-founded several ventures, including Colecti, an NFT marketplace, and Liskscan, a popular blockchain explorer.

He previously served as a digital transformation manager at BNP Paribas, where he specialised in creating impactful partnerships and advised on digitization strategies. He studied marketing at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) for his master’s degree and at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht for his bachelor’s degree.

Jurre Machielsen

CCO

Jurre is the CCO of Klayr Labs, a Layer 1 web3 startup with a mission to bring digital ownership to more people. His role at the Dutch company is to identify key partnerships and initiatives for the Dutch business ecosystem that can benefit specifically from integrating blockchain and web3 technologies.

He is a layer-one blockchain veteran, having co-founded the Lisk blockchain explorer Liskscan and the Utrecht Lisk Center and co-founded and served as CTO for Lisk’s first NFT marketplace (Colecti). He also co-founded the web3 consultancy Moosty, advising entrepreneurs and developers on their innovation projects.

Prior to his work in web3, Jurre was an innovation coach. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in built environment from the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and has also studied innovation sciences at the Eindhoven University of Technology and information sciences at Centrale Méditerranée.

Raphaël Cornelis

CPO

Raphaël is the CPO of Klayr Labs, a Layer 1 web3 startup with a mission to bring digital ownership to more people. His role at the Dutch company is to oversee the creation and expansion of products, services, and toolkits built on the Klayr Layer 1 blockchain.

He has contributed significantly to the Lisk ecosystem, having served as a validator for the blockchain among leading other initiatives, including co-founding the Lisk blockchain explorer Liskscan, co-founding Lisk’s first NFT marketplace (Colecti), advising projects building on Lisk through the consultancy Moosty, and helping set up the Lisk Center in Utrecht. Before working in web3, he founded a successful cross-media strategy agency in the Netherlands and led it for over a decade.

Sander Mandemaker

CTO

Sander Mandemaker is the CTO of Klayr Labs, a Layer 1 web3 startup with a mission to bring digital ownership to more people. His role at the Dutch company is to drive technical innovation and keep Klayr (the startup and the layer-one) at the cutting edge of blockchain technology.

Sander is a career creator and developer who has built a diverse range of decentralised apps (dApps) ranging from marketplaces to ticketing solutions. He is the technological visionary behind several Lisk projects, including Lisk NFT marketplace Colecti and Lisk blockchain explorer Liskscan, and is now leading Klayr’s latest technological developments to bring more developers to the layer-one blockchain. He received his bachelor of science in psychology with minors in computer science and data science from the University of Twente.
